Group Finance Director

At a pivotal time in their story, the Company has created a new role for an exceptional leader to join them as a Group Finance Director. A Board appointment, this role will provide strategic financial direction to fellow Company Directors and will make a key contribution to overall business strategy, seeking to add value to Group performance.

The Group Finance Director will lead all corporate functions within the business including Finance, Operations, HR and IT. Their focus will be on people performance and enablement, ensuring the highest standards in service delivery and innovation in processes to support the business as it grows. The role holder will be responsible for day-to-day business management of the Group, driving commercial results, assessing income streams and costs and delivering on P&L, cashflow and KPI objectives. Along with the Company Directors, the Group Finance Director will identify and manage new business ventures, acquisitions, major capital expenditure and investment opportunities – this will include evaluation of contracts, prospects, due diligence and working with professional advisers. The successful candidate will be a visible figurehead with role model behaviours inside the organisation and a company ambassador outside it.

Applicants should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Significant recent experience as a Finance Director or Head of Finance in a fast-paced commercial business.
  • A demonstrable track record in successfully leading and developing a finance team to achieve business objectives and to ensure effective processes and controls.
  • Evidence of providing sound strategic guidance and financial management, reporting and planning within a commercial organisation.
  • Experience of building excellent stakeholder relationships internally and externally, demonstrating delivery of high standards in service.
  • Previous success in developing and implementing innovative, effective improvements in business and people processes.
  • Previous experience of acquisition processes or corporate finance activities would be highly desirable.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.

This is a newly created role suitable for a Finance leader with broader business management experience and aspirations.
