Manufacturing Director

Our client is a hugely successful advanced manufacturer working at the forefront of technology. Due to consistent business growth and future company plans they have created a new role to oversee shift-based manufacturing operations, leading operational colleagues and ensuring the effective and efficient use of facilities.

In summary, the Manufacturing Director will be responsible for the planning and manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are met on every occasion across all shifts. They’ll be accountable for people leadership across operations, recruiting and developing colleagues, building out teams as the company grows. They’ll identify opportunities to enhance colleagues’ skillsets and coach direct reports to develop their own direct reports in turn, providing for further growth.

The Manufacturing Director will work closely with their leadership colleagues on long-term operating goals, expansion efforts and implementation of new and advanced technology. They’ll maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all people and, through maintenance colleagues, ensure certain equipment performance.

Applicants should possess the following skills and criteria:

  • Significant senior management experience in advanced manufacturing.
  • A background in scaling an operational team whilst maintaining performance and delivery targets.
  • A thorough understanding of the policies and practices used in manufacturing operations.
  • An ability to set short and long-term goals and to motivate others to accomplish them.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders and to communicate effectively with them.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
