Senior Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a hugely successful organisation working at the forefront of technology. Due to consistent business growth and future company plans they seek to hire a number of Senior Maintenance Engineers to ensure effective performance of equipment and equipment users.

In summary, this role has overall responsibility for all equipment planned and unplanned maintenance activity and associated metrology. The role holder will ensure all calibration is kept up to date, processed in line with company procedures and that all maintenance activities are continuously improved to reduce maintenance costs and safeguard availability of tools to production. They will work closely with process development engineering on testing to identify root causes of failure and present solutions.

The maintenance engineer will actively work as part of the material review board to reduce scrap and will ensure all practices adopted on site comply with health and safety and company codes of business. They will liaise with external suppliers on materials development to support process improvements, with leadership on identifying and resolving skills gaps and will set an example of best operating standards to the business.

Applicants should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience in the maintenance, repair and operation of scientific or technical equipment e.g. mechanical, electromechanical, electronics and robotic with working knowledge of a variety of unique equipment and materials.
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics and pneumatic drawings, flow charts and cause and effect diagrams.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical design of robotic systems and able to troubleshoot electronic circuits to component.
  • Experience with common hand tools as well as various electronic instruments: able to set up, operate and interpret output of test equipment to include, but not limited to digital volt-ohm meters, current and voltage sources.
  • A background in working on complex assignments requiring judgment in resolving issues with the ability to learn and understand process flow quickly and support the engineering organisation as needed.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to root cause and analyse collected data for continuous improvement. Ability to identify machine parts and coordinate replacement with vendors.
  • An interest in engaging with others to learn, teach, cooperate, and positively impact the company’s goals.
  • Prioritises work to best focus on activities that yield the best overall result for the company.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of attention to detail.
  • A third level qualification in an engineering related discipline.
