Research Consultant

Narratology is an Executive Search firm working with a wide range of clients from multinational employers and Plcs to startups and SMEs to appoint key leaders to their organisations. We recruit for roles at C-suite, Director and Senior Manager level across Executive Management, Finance, HR, Marketing or specialist skillsets that are specific to their industry.

At Narratology, research is central to what we do. Whether that’s knowing the right people or knowing our markets, our assignments depend on this knowledge. The role of a Research Consultant is integral to delivering for our clients through search assignments, talent mapping exercises, ad hoc benchmarking requests and providing guidance on market availability.

As a Research Consultant you’ll provide timely and valued research for high profile projects at different stages of completion, so prioritising and being able to deliver to the highest standards whilst meeting deadlines is a must. You’ll be naturally inquisitive, you’ll have a real interest in people and importantly, you’ll be results-focused, driven to ensure a successful outcome for every client on every occasion.

As well as having a deep understanding of our clients’ requirements, you’ll also understand their industries and will play your part in guiding and delivering for them through your expertise. You’ll build solid working relationships with colleagues to create an inclusive and effective approach that will ultimately provide a seamless project life cycle for clients and for ourselves. We work with clients across the UK, Ireland and much further afield on appointments that are equally geographically dispersed. Every client is different and every search unique: the role of the Research Consultant is therefore extremely varied and no two days are ever the same.

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

• Solid commercial research experience in a recruitment, business development, market research or relevant business setting.
• Previous experience of desktop research with knowledge of the tools and methods required to effectively search online resources.
• Demonstrable ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects at varying stages of completion.
• Very organised with the ability to meet deadlines whilst delivering a high standard of work.
• A solutions-focused approach, naturally curious and creative in thinking.
• Enjoys working as part of a team and on their initiative.
